Hidden Design Competition 2023

From the past two weeks, I’ve been working on the Hidden Ny Tee competition.

Despite having a User Experience background, I have always been fascinated by a good t-shirt and it was a chance to put my skills to the test.

Slide 2: to start off the competition, I couldn’t just go straight into Adobe illustrator and start designing hence I started with a brainstorm to understand what type of T-shirt I wanted to design and it’s like a focal point in case I get stuck and I need to refer back to something.

Slide 3: these were all the graphics I ended up designing.

Slide 4: I call this the spotted Hidden NY t-shirt. Inspired by @damienhirst artwork, this a spin on @hidden.ppf Logo.

Slide 5: this t-shirt is called 964, I just thought a Porsche would look cool on a tee. That’s it, nothing else. No other meaning. Also, from the first set of designs from this tee, there’s Japanese writing which translates to ‘you can’t create a future without taking risks’. I would leave that for you guys to think about.

Slide 6: this t-shirt is called Three Wise Monkeys. The three wise monkeys is a Japanese maxim. Underneath the monkeys, the Japanese wording translates to, ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’.

Slide 7-10: these collection of T-shirt are called mountain and temple. It’s a collection of tees I have designed of a temple and Mount Fuji in Japan.

That’s it, no more designs 🙃

So why am I sharing this? If I get selected to be top 16, the winners are determined on the votes on the hidden stories. Only one of my designs will get selected and if I do, I would like everyone to vote for my tee.
